Who We Are

We’re a CPA‑led controller and bookkeeping firm built on clarity, accuracy, and genuine partnership. We combine professional expertise with a steady, supportive approach so you always feel informed, confident, and equipped to make decisions.

We work closely with clients to make the accounting side of your business feel clear, steady, and manageable. Our approach is practical and collaborative—meeting you where you are, explaining what matters in plain language, and giving you the confidence to make decisions with reliable information. It’s the same mindset that guides how we support our team and how we show up for the organizations we serve.

Our team is built around the same principles we bring to our clients:

clarity, steadiness, and support

from people who care about doing things well.

Katie Evanoff, CPA

Owner and Founder

How I support our clients

What do you enjoy about accounting and bookkeeping? I love taking something that feels heavy and draining for business owners and turning it into relief and momentum. When we handle the accounting, clients get to focus on the work they’re meant to do.

When a client works with you, what can they consistently expect from you?‍ ‍Honesty. I believe in setting realistic expectations, communicating clearly, and following through. Reliability is one of my core strengths.

What’s one thing you try to make easier or less stressful for clients? Understanding their financials. Accuracy matters, and it becomes even more powerful when the information also makes sense. I work hard to translate the numbers into something clients can read, use, and feel confident about.

How do you approach a situation when a client feels stuck or unsure? It depends. If it's something in their court, I ask open-ended questions to help them get to the heart of what they really need. If it's something we're working through together, I shift my approach - maybe different wording or a visual example. The goal is always the same: help them move forward with clarity and confidence.

What’s something you do behind the scenes that clients might not realize but benefits them? I'm constantly evaluating and refining our processes. The smoother and more efficient the workflows, the clearer our team's minds, which translates directly into better client service. It also keeps our time (and therefore costs) in check. Quiet efficiency is one of the biggest gifts we can give.

A bit about me

Tell us a little about your family or the community around you. I'm in central Indiana and live in town but not far from the farmland I grew up on. I'm married to Steve and am a blessed mom/stepmom to our blended bunch which includes our grown children and our grandchildren, to whom it's my profound joy to be "Mama Bear."

Do you share your home with any pets? Since adopting Rusty (Labradoodle) and Mona (Bernedoodle) in 2024, the whole family spoils them with love. They camp, fish, and go on bike rides with us, and most workdays you'll find them snoozing in my office. We also have chickens, the most spoiled of whom is the famous blind hen Stevie Wander (yes, Wander).

What’s a skill or interest outside of work that people might not expect? I started college as a piano major before changing to accounting. I'm the pianist at our church and have played at all kinds of events through the years such as the Indiana State Fair and the national anthem at my high school, and a distinct highlight was playing twice for Indiana Governor Frank O'Bannon in his home.

What helps you recharge or reset after a busy day? Being outside and moving. Walking, camping, or tinkering in my flower beds - anything that gets me out in the fresh air. You'll rarely find me in front of a screen after hours.

What’s a fun fact that people would find hard to believe about you? That I'm a CPA...ha! In the movies, "Bob from accounting" is usually portrayed as quiet, suit-wearing, tax-doing, and a little dull. I'm fairly energetic, don't do taxes, love being around people, and while I have suits for when duty requires, my usual style is comfortable and relaxed.

How I support our clients

What do you enjoy about accounting and bookkeeping? I have worked mostly in small business settings, and I really appreciate taking the stress and guesswork out of financials so owners are able to focus more on running their companies.

When a client works with you, what can they consistently expect from you? I am open to input and questions and always have an eye for being as efficient and timely as possible.

What’s one thing you try to make easier or less stressful for clients? I am very dependable and consistent and believe that creates a low-stress working relationship.

How do you approach a situation when a client feels stuck or unsure? I will explain a situation to my best ability then ask for feedback to ensure I have brought clarity. If I have not, I will encourage a different format—maybe moving from email to a conference call or incorporating a graphic, or anything to give more detail to the topic at hand.

What’s something you do behind the scenes that clients might not realize but benefits them? Because I have owned a small business, I am always looking at financials with eyes as if it were my own set of books—analyzing the financials with a focus on achieving the best level of profitability and professionalism.

 A bit about me

Tell us a little about your family or the community around you. I live in the hill country of Texas, near Austin.  I have two high-school-aged kids who keep me busy with sports and community activities.

Do you share your home with any pets? We have two dogs—one Corgi that is the queen of our house (of course!) and one rescue dog who is missing an ear and has endless amounts of energy and affection.

What’s a skill or interest outside of work that people might not expect? I have a huge passion for horses and although I don't currently have time to sit in the saddle, I have spent many years riding and hope to be doing it again someday when life slows down a bit.

What helps you recharge or reset after a busy day? Anything outside! A walk, a bike ride, pickleball, hiking, golfing....anything where I can get some vitamin D and move around!

Tell us a little about your favorite vacation destination? Any destination where I can soak in authentic culture, but I also love hanging out on the beach.

What’s a fun fact that people would find hard to believe about you? I have a cassette tape collection and until recently, I still owned a car with a cassette player.

What’s something you do behind the scenes that clients might not realize but benefits them? Behind the scenes, I’m continually learning. That may consist of learning more about various industries or ways to help streamline financial processes. I also stay current on industry standards and best practices so I can bring new ideas and improvements to our clients. Much of this work happens quietly in the background, but it’s what helps our clients stay ahead of issues and make confident, informed decisions.

A bit about me

Tell us a little about your family or the community around you. Outside of accounting & bookkeeping, I am heavily involved in the soccer community around me and am a passionate "Dog Dad."

What’s a skill or interest outside of work that people might not expect? I coach soccer at the same high school I played for, and serve on the board of the local recreational soccer program.

What helps you recharge or reset after a busy day? When I am not working or coaching soccer, I spend the majority of my time playing, walking, or going on trips with my Chocolate Lab, Gunnar!

How I support our clients

What do you enjoy about accounting and bookkeeping?  I view accounting as a skill similar to puzzle solving - taking a set of data and understanding how it all fits together, then presenting it to the viewer to make it easy to read.  And like adding the final piece to a jigsaw puzzle, I find it incredibly satisfying when it all comes together!

When a client works with you, what can they consistently expect from you? Communication and consistency.  I may not have all of the answers right away, but I pride myself on communicating an expectation and sticking to it or communicating if a change is needed.

What’s one thing you try to make easier or less stressful for clients? I feel like I excel at compiling questions clearly and into minimal touch points to be the most efficient and effective I can be.

What’s something you do behind the scenes that clients might not realize but benefits them? Read and understand the AAHA Chart of Accounts and Field Definitions

A bit about me

Tell us a little about your family or the community around you. I am a homeschool mom with 4 young children.  We live in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains on a ranch.

Do you share your home with any pets? I assist my husband in taking care of our animals on the ranch.  I especially love helping during calving season and watching my children learn great horsemanship skills with our horses. We have a blue heeler named Dusty, who also loves assisting us while we work cattle on the ranch.

What’s a skill or interest outside of work that people might not expect? I run our church’s kids ministry program on Sundays and lead a children's performance team on Thursday nights.  I enjoy spending time with America’s future.

What helps you recharge or reset after a busy day? Not sure I have any reset rituals but always feel accomplished at the end of the day when I have accomplished tasks for work, home, and family.

Tell us a little about your favorite vacation destination. I love the beach! Sunkissed skin, the sun’s warmth, kids busy outside, and a great wave view.

What’s a fun fact that people would find hard to believe about you? A dream day for me would be at home planting plants, making sourdough bread recipes, and cleaning my house from top to bottom.

How I support clients

What do you enjoy about accounting and bookkeeping? I enjoy how accounting and bookkeeping for each and every business is different. Accounting and bookkeeping tell a story, and I enjoy translating it for others to read and understand. It motivates me every day knowing that these "stories" help businessmen and women improve and grow their practices.

When a client works with you, what can they consistently expect from you? When clients work with me, they get someone fully invested in their organization and who genuinely wants to see them thrive. I pay attention to the little details while still keeping an eye on the bigger picture. I genuinely care about our clients and their business, so I’m always learning about their industry and how they operate. The more I understand their world, the better I can help them succeed.

What’s one thing you try to make easier or less stressful for clients? I work to remove the financial “unknowns.” Many clients feel overwhelmed by daily bookkeeping, endless invoices & statements, or not knowing what their numbers mean. I take that weight off their shoulders by explaining, building dashboards, and creating processes that help make their financial picture easy to understand. My goal is for them to feel confident when they look at their numbers.

A bit about me

Tell us a little about your family or the community around you. I am married to my college sweetheart and husband of 20 years, Paul.  We have 2 teenage children, Henry and Jane.  We live in Cincinnati but hail from Indianapolis.

Do you share your home with any pets? I have an 8-year-old rescue wonder pup, Lucy.  She is a true Heinz 57 mutt and looks like a Shepherd/Doberman mix.  She is a sweet, submissive runt who has a very scary bark and is terrified of the vacuum or anything that makes loud noises.

What’s a skill or interest outside of work that people might not expect?
I'm a long-time distance runner and have spent many hours coaching different youth sports.

What helps you recharge or reset after a busy day?
I am an "outdoor cat," so anything that gets me fresh air, whether that's going for a run, walking my dog or just enjoying a glass of wine or a book on my back porch.  (On the days that I'm not carpooling my children to their many events!)

Tell us a little about your favorite vacation destination.
This is a tough one - there aren't many vacation destinations I would find hard to enjoy, and I am blessed to have enjoyed lots of travel!  My favorite has to be the family lake house in southern Indiana on Monroe Reservoir.  It is a beautiful escape from the daily grind of life, reminds me of my roots, and holds many special memories of time spent with family.

What’s a fun fact that people would find hard to believe about you? I am one of a set of quadruplets - 3 girls and 1 boy.  We also have an older sister. This was front-page news back in the early ‘80s!  My 3 quadruplet siblings still live in Indianapolis, and we see each other often.  Our kids are growing up with a beautiful, large set of cousins.
