Frequently Not Asked Questions
The questions you may not ask but often think about.
Here’s a clear, behind-the-scenes look at how we work.
-
Totally fair question. A lot of our clients started out feeling the same way.
The good news is that modern accounting tools make remote support not just possible, but often easier than having someone down the hall. We work with clients from coast to coast, and our systems are built around simple, secure information exchange. You don’t have to figure out the workflow—we already know what information we need and how to get it without peppering you with constant requests.
Everything is handled through secure software, clear processes, and a team that knows how to keep things moving smoothly. You get the benefit of a professional accounting department… without needing to find an extra desk.

If you want reassurance, we’re happy to connect you with current clients who can speak candidly about their experience. So far, no one has chosen to leave us. And, our agreements include a termination clause if you’re not satisfied. Spoiler: no one has taken us up on it yet.

You’ll have a dedicated team assigned to you—real humans who know your business and aren’t juggling an impossible workload. We use a secure client portal that notifies us when you have a question, and you can also reach us by email, phone, or telegram. (okay, maybe not telegram)
Our clients consistently tell us they feel supported and heard. In fact, we haven’t had a single complaint about response time. Being remote doesn’t make us less available; if anything, it makes us more intentional about communication.

Great question—and a common assumption.
“CPA” is more than a credential. It represents a rigorous level of training, testing, ethics, and ongoing professional standards. But just like medical doctors, for example, CPAs specialize. A family doctor and a podiatrist are both MDs, but you wouldn’t ask your podiatrist to diagnose strep throat.
Our specialty is clean and accurate books, financials, systems, and support for your business. We don’t prepare taxes, but we make your tax preparer’s job much easier.

A controller is the person who makes sure your financial systems - not just your numbers - run smoothly. We oversee the accounting function, keep your books clean, close the month, and help you understand what your numbers are saying so you can make decisions with confidence. We also build and refine the processes that keep everything accurate and consistent as your business grows.
A simple way to picture it: Bookkeepers record what happened. Controllers create the structure that keeps everything running well and helps you make sense of it.
In short, a controller brings order, clarity, and dependable processes to your financial world so you can see the full picture of your business.
